It is our intent and purpose to be New Testament Christians and a congregation of the Lord\u2019s church \u2014 nothing more, nothing less. There are many names and creeds in the religious world that have arisen over the years since the New Testament. We want to follow only Christ, accept no authority but the Bible, and wear no name but Christian. We believe that when we follow the Bible only, we will be Christians only.<\/p>\n
This does not mean that we are perfect people. We have shortcomings and faults as everyone does. But we want to do better. We don\u2019t know everything. As Loving Christians, we want to treat others as we should, and we are trying to improve on this by following the example of Christ. We haven\u2019t arrived \u2014 we are just on the journey.<\/p>\n
Together we are a diverse group of people coming from varied backgrounds and at different stages of knowledge and spiritual growth. We are brought together by our recognition that we are sinners and in need of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ (Mark 2:17; Romans 5:6-9; Ephesians 1:7). Because of this reason we can worship together, stick together, and, with God\u2019s help, accomplish some things that make a difference. You will find us to be a people who love God, his son Jesus, His Word the Bible, and all people. Above all, we wish to obey God in all things and reflect His love to all mankind.<\/p>\n
What to expect:<\/h2>\n
Praising God<\/strong>
\nWe begin our worship singing praises to God. And one thing you may notice is that we sing acapella. Our conviction is to worship according to the New Testament pattern (1 Corinthians 14:15; Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 2:12).\u00a0 But we think you will find the singing very uplifting and meaningful, with everyone invited to participate.<\/p>\nPraying<\/strong>
\nWe will have prayers of praise, thanksgiving and intercession during our worship time together.<\/p>\nTeaching<\/strong>
\nOur minister will spend time preaching from scripture.\u00a0 It helps us to understand God\u2019s word and apply His teachings to our everyday life. \u00a0The sermon will likely be about 30 minutes long. We think you will find it refreshingly Bible-centered.<\/p>\nCommunion \/ The Lord’s Supper<\/strong>
\nWe celebrate The Lord’s Supper every Sunday. \u00a0It is a time when we remember Christ\u2019s life, sacrificial death for our sins, and resurrection. All believers are invited to join us.\u00a0 We pass a plate of unleavened bread and pass a tray of fruit of the vine. As you eat, remember Christ\u2019s life and sacrifice. Likewise, as you drink, remembering Christ\u2019s blood shed on the cross. 1 Cor 11:23-32<\/p>\nThe Lord\u2019s Supper we observe in accordance with the New Testament Scriptures, which is the First-Century Church standard:<\/p>\n
\n- The Lord\u2019s Supper was instituted by Jesus and commanded by Him to be observed by His followers (Matt 26:26-28; Lk 22; 19-20).<\/li>\n
- The apostles did as Jesus commanded; they instructed Christians to do same (Act 2:42; I Cor 11:23-26).<\/li>\n
- The Lord\u2019s Supper is observed on the first day of the week (Sunday), every first day of the week (Acts 20:7).<\/li>\n
- Two items are used in the Lord\u2019s Supper. They are the Unleavened Bread -Bread without Yeast (Matt 26: 17; Mk 14:12) and the Fruit of the Vine – Juice from Grape Vine (Mk 14:24-25).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Giving<\/strong>
\nAs our guest, do not feel obligated to give an offering. \u00a0This part of the service is for those of us who have committed to give back to God as we have prospered a financial offering so that we can participate in God\u2019s work.
